The Disability Discrimination Act was introduced to help disabled people when dealing with service providers, companies or organisations. Businesses must take measures to ensure that hard of hearing customers are able to communicate on their premises with no more difficulty than people without hearing difficulties. Hard of hearing employees and customers must be adequately provided for by the installation & availability of assistive hearing systems, such as Induction Loop or Infra Red systems, which will allow them to use facilities or services which are available to the general public. The DDA also states that as well as the equipment being available to the hard of hearing when they need it, the equipment must be properly maintained and staff must know how to operate it.
Assistive Hearing Systems
Newtech provides a variety of Assistive Hearing Systems to aid the hard of hearing. From Infra Red systems to Speech Transfer and Loop Induction systems. In most cases equipment can be installed discretely, leaving a fully functioning system, which does not require any regular checks or adjustments to be made. Installation can usually be completed within a matter of hours with minimal disruption to the work area and staff can be fully trained in how to use the system by a member of out installation team.
Newtech provides and installs the following equipment for each location. Please click on the link for more information about each product.
