Infra Red systems provide a clear means for people with varying degrees of hearing loss to hear clearly when attending theatre productions, talks or lessons. By transmitting sound directly to the users headset, background noise can be greatly reduced and sound clarity boosted, enabling people to hear the speaker or performance from anywhere within the room which has direct line of sight to the infra red transmitter. Infra Red systems are often used to assist hearing aid users when Induction Loop systems are not practical due to excessive background electrical interference.
The Infra Red transmitter can either be connected to an existing audio system or wired to dedicated microphones allowing users to hear all the sounds of the performance or presentation. Infra Red 'radiators' are mounted at the front of the room or theatre hall and users wear receiver headsets. Newtech can provide a range of microphones, from ceiling hung to wireless lapel mics.
Any number of infra red headphone sets can be supplied with rechargeable docking stations and systems can be extended to additional rooms if necessary. Neckloop receiver units can also be supplied which allow hearing aid user to pick up the infra red signal via their hearing aid.
