The Direct Sound - Television / Radio Listening Device
Being able to hear the television or radio clearly without having to turn the volume up to excessive levels can be difficult for the hard of hearing, which is why Newtech has developed the Direct Sound unit.
The ‘DirectSound’ is a small robust listening device for deaf and hard of hearing users who require an extra boost in sound from their television or radio. It is supplied with either a scart lead that plugs into back of your tv or a miniature microphone which can be connected to the television or radio speakers if a scart connection is not available. The DirectSound also comes with a choice of headphones and operates either by a 9v battery or power adaptor (not included) that plugs into the back of the unit.

This earphone provides sound to both ears. The soft mushroom tips provide comfort
and the high quality earphones offer excellent sound clarity. Suitable for those with a
moderate to severe hearing loss.
These offer the best choice for comfort and frequency response. Sound is fed in Mono
to both ears and is suitable for those with mild to moderate hearing loss.
The Conversor Pro is a high quality personal listening device that consists of two components - a lightweight microphone/transmitter and a receiver unit worn around the users neck. It can be used in a variety of situations throughout day to day life allowing hearing aid users to hear more clearly. The hand held microphone focuses on desired sounds, filtering out unwanted background noise and gently enhancing sound level and clarity. By removing background noise, the desired sound is much clearer and more intelligible, even in noisy environments. The microphone can be held in the hand and pointed directly at the desired sound source, placed on a suitable surface in close proximity to the sound source or worn by a teacher in a classroom. The microphone/transmitter and receiver can operate at distances of up to 50 meters apart via wireless transmission, allowing flexibility for the user.
Both the microphone/transmitter and receiver units are quickly rechargeable for up to eight hours of continuous use.

The Infra Red comes with comfortable lightweight headphones which are powered by rechargeable batteries. The Transmitter has a power saving automatic On/Off facility and will switch itself off when it is no longer receiving an audio signal. The system is designed for direct connection to the television and is supplied with a scart cable for this purpose.
