Design & installation of a multi-functional audio visual system
Newtech was awarded the contract to design and install a new audio visual system for the Church of the Good Shepherd, Pyrford, Surrey. The church was to undergo a complete refurbishment and as part of these works new high quality sound and video systems were required. The new digital audio system was based around a Behringer X32 digital mixer and 3x S16 digital snake units together with AQ8/10 Martin Audio speakers suspended and wall mounted throughout the church. The client required multiple floorboxes within the new raised Dais with connection points for laptops, mp3 players, microphones & monitor speakers as well as additional callbox connection points. In additional the client wanted to display live camera views of events on the projector and new monitor screens, to accommodate this a High definition PTZ ( adjustable camera with joystick control unit) camera with installed at the rear of the church and various preset ‘views programmed into it – allowing the client to quickly switch from one view to another.
The church has several adjoining function rooms which occasionally act as overflow rooms for large events (in excess of 300 attendees). Monitor screens and speakers were installed in these rooms and connected to the main church system, allowing a live camera feed to be displayed on the screens and a direct feed from the audio system to clearly heard throughout. The system was to be ‘future proofed’ for future expansion and / or connection of additional equipment. Through the installation of Cat6 cable throughout, the system can adapt to any future requirements,
Newtech completed all aspects of the installation from the initial consultation, through the to the design, installation and ongoing maintenance of the completed system. Our engineers also provided training sessions covering all aspects of the system.
